OneDrive (free) Advisory

Last edited on February 6, 2019.

As a result of changes made by Microsoft to their API, the File Fabric's OneDrive (free) connector is no longer functional. OneDrive for Business and Office 365 are not affected.

We have removed the OneDrive (free) connector from the list of available connectors on our US and EU SaaS sites. It will shortly be replaced with a new connector that works properly with OneDrive (free).

For our File Fabric appliance customers whose appliances we manage, we are taking the following steps:

  • Removing the OneDrive (SkyDrive) connector that was used for OneDrive (free) access from the list of available connectors in every package.
  • Notifying each customer if the OneDrive (SkyDrive) connector is in use on their appliance.

For our File Fabric appliance customers who manage their own appliances, we will shortly provide a script they can run to determine whether and by whom OneDrive (free) is being used on their File Fabric, and to remove the connector from the list of available connectors in every package.

A new connector that works properly with OneDrive (free) will be provided in a future File Fabric appliance version. Additionally, depending on the demand for OneDrive (free) connectivity from customers using earlier supported versions, currently v1803 and v1808, then we may release service packs containing the new connector for those versions.

If you have any questions about using OneDrive (free) with the File Fabric, please contact SME Support at: support@storagemadeeasy.com.
