Nasuni Access Anywhere

Access Anywhere unifies the storage view across all access clients and implements a common control and governance policies through the use of its policy and governance features.

The appliance be provided as an OVF compliant image or as a VMWARE image. Both of these can work with ESXi, KVM or Hyper-V infrastructures.

What does it provide ?


The File Fabric can be privately deployed On-Site or on IaaS infrastructure (ie. Amazon EC2, Azure Cloud, Google Cloud, VMWare Marketplace etc).

Specifically it provides a solution to the following issues:

  1. It adds a common control point for File and Object Data services
  2. It provides a Single-Sign-On integration with corporate IAM services seamlessly through to back-end storage services.
  3. It provides secure file/folder sharing policies for file and object data
  4. It provides FIPS certified streamed encryption for file/object data.
  5. It provides a common control point for governance / compliance of file / object data.
  6. It provides increased end-user productivity through built in file transfer acceleration , unified search and collaboration capabilities.

It can also be used to satisfy common use cases such as behind the firewall secure file sharing often referred to as the 'Private DropBox' or 'Enterprise' DropBox use case for file and object data.

Logical Architecture

The File Fabric is composed of:

- Security Manager(s)
- Audit Manager
- Access Control Manager
- Indexing service
- Cloud Backup service
- Content Search and Discovery service

The File Fabric connects to over 60 file/object storage solutions on the and entry points include:

- File Fabric Native Applications
- REST / JSON API
- WebDav API
- FTP / FTPS / SFTP API
- S3 API

These API's and Apps enable entry points to all data irrespective of whether the mapped clouds support such protocols or entry points or not.

It is also important to note that the solution is non-propreitary and therefore supports bi-modal use directly to the storage solutions that have been mapped to the File Fabric. If content is added to storage directly the File Fabric's indexing service adds the new data to the File Fabric's metadata cache.
