-====== Enterprise File Fabric for iOS ======
-
-The Storage Made Easy File Manager, available from the App Store, is the iOS client (iPhones, iPads) for the File Fabric platform. The App can be used with our SaaS, IaaS (managed hosting) and Enterprise (self-hosted) solutions.
-
-You will need your username and password to login. Enterprise users will also need the Endpoint for your instance, typically the same as the URL you use for the File Manager website.
-
-===== 1 Logging In =====
-
-
-
-Do you have a File Fabric account?
-
- * **No** - First, sign up for a SaaS account or Enterprise trial at sign up.
-
- * **Enterprise** or **IaaS** - First, set your //Endpoint// by clicking //Go offline//, then //Settings//, and scrolling to the bottom.
-
- * **SaaS** - Are you using storagemadeeasy.com? Check //Use EU server// if you use eu.storagemadeeasy.com.
-
-Enable //Sign me in automatically//. You'll need this if you use Share feature outside the application.
-
-Use your username and password to sign in. Welcome!
-
-===== 2 Quick Start =====
-
-Hate Manuals? Quick guide below and then you can stop reading!
-
-The application has three main views:
-
-1. **Cloud Files** - Remote view on files stored in your account. You need internet access. Click on a file or folder in the Cloud Files view and select a pop up option. These include file sharing, download and viewing options. Swipe to delete. Files deleted are not removed from the cloud they are stored until you remove from trash.
-
-2. **Local Files** - files you have either downloaded, or moved across direct to your device using the built in FTP/HTTP server, or that are opened from Email or other apps:
-
-3. **Folder Sync** - Directories you have chosen to sync directly from the Cloud to your iOS device. To activate this simply navigate to the folder you wish to sync from the Cloud Files view and then nominate the folder for sync using a folder action (bottom right) and then sync using the sync button from the My Syncs Menu. You can have multiple folders mapped from different clouds.
-
-You can also access these features through other applications:
-
-1. **Share**->**Upload** - Upload a file to a nominated folder in Cloud Files.
-1. **Share**->**Save to Files** - Save a file to Local Files.
-
-These are the basics. You can ignore the rest of the manual for now and just get going!
-
-
-===== 3 Security =====
-
-
-
-The App is secured in 3 ways:
-
-1. **Account sign-in**. You must sign in to access your account. This will authenticate with the File Fabric and will grant a token for session access.
-
-2. **PIN:** There is also a padlock which works on the device. You can enter a pin and each time you access the App or foreground it you must enter the PIN or use Touch ID.
-
-3. **Password:** If you turn on the device password then the App takes advantage of the encryption features build into iOS and all files are encrypted when the device is 'locked'.
-
-===== 4 Main Menu =====
-
-
-
-
-
-The first screen you see after logging in is the Menu. From this screen you can choose which functions you would like to invoke. This is the main menu screen you navigate back to from SME Cloud File Manager.\\ \\ On the iPad you main screen is seen if you are in landscape mode and pops in and out as a navigation menu in portrait mode.
-
-
-===== 5 Settings =====
-
-
-
-
-
-There are settings options for SME available from the App settings Menu. There are several options:\\ \\ 1. **Simplified interface** - this simplifies the menu interface that is available from within SME Cloud File Manager. By default this is set to "on"\\ \\ 2. **Enable Font autosizing** - This is applicable to the iPhone only. If there are long file or folder names, this options reduces the size of the font. This is set to "on" by default\\ \\ 3. **Cloud Memos** Turns the Cloud Memos option on or off (off by default)\\ \\ 4. **Voice Memos** Turns the Voice Memos option on or off.\\ \\ 5. **View file information** Turning this on enables access to this feature from folder actions and it provides an advanced view of file information where all file information is collated in one screen.\\ \\ 6. **Use Full Resolution** - Setting this to 'on' forces the full size resolution of pictures taken on the iOS camera to be used when saving photos to the chosen cloud.\\ \\ 7. **Quality** - This sets the quality of videos that will be exported. Note that larger qualities have much larger sizes.\\ \\ 8. **Real Time -  ** The App employs a device cache to speed up access. If real-time is turned on it will always go back to the underlying cloud to get the latest view of data. Note This can make the App much slower. Also note that you can also refresh a folder view directly from the bottom left refresh icon.\\ \\ 9. **Enable Trash** - This lets you decide whether deleted files are removed to the SME Trash view or removed directly from the underlying cloud.\\ \\ 10. **Sync Password** - if you have encrypted files in folders that you sync then this enables you to provide the password that will be used for decryption during the sync to your device (note if you are a business Cloud or Enterprise SME user and Org Encryption is "on" this option does **not** need to be set up).
-
-
-===== 6 Cloud File Browser =====
-
-
-
-
-
-When you click on '**//My Cloud Files'//** from the Main Menu, you are taken to the Cloud File Browser View. Here you can see all your Cloud Files and folders from a single cloud or many clouds depending on which clouds you have mapped to your account.   On the iPhone If you have a long folder or file names then the text will shrink to accommodate the name. This default behaviour can be changed in the SME settings.\\ \\ The Cloud file system is navigated as you would a normal file system.\\ \\ There is a search button at the top of the screen that lets you search for files against all the files that you have mapped to your account. Search is done against Filename, File Description and Tag. The Search is conducted on our server and it is possible to search thousands of files very quickly with the results being returned in the Virtual Cloud file view.\\ \\ If a key is shown against a file in the file browser, this means it is password protected and you will need to enter the password that you created when you uploaded the file before you can access it on the iPhone.

This is a handy way to get quick access to frequently used files.\\ \\ You can also mark folders as favorites by using a Folder action. This is a great way to quickly access long file paths.
-
-
-===== 18 Uploading files by URL =====
-
-
-
-
-
-The file upload feature available in the Cloud files view enables you to submit a file link and the file will be downloaded into your primary cloud provider account. Once the URL is submitted the status of the download can be monitored within the Background Tasks Menu.  \\ \\ This all occurs on the server-side so you can exit SME Cloud File Manager and the download will continue to occur.
-
-
-===== 19 Downloading files by URL =====

-
-===== 24 iOS HTTP / FTP Server =====
-
-
-
-
-
-The **//Local Files//** Menu choice enables you to upload files directly to the iPhone / iPad from your PC or laptop.\\ \\ There are two ways you can do this. The first is to click on the http server and connect to the web browser url given, or if you are using a Mac and Safari, just use the bonjour services in Safari.   You can then choose to upload a file at a time.\\ \\ The second is to activate the FTP Server and connect to the iPhone/Ipad wirelessly from any FTP client. If you do this then you can batch upload files directly to your device, including entire folder structures.\\ \\ You can also create folders directly from the iPhone/iPad if you want to organise content and use Folder actions to 'cut' and 'paste; files.  \\ \\ Local Files enables you to have a real local file directory on your iPhone/iPad as well as a virtual cloud file system. The combination of both makes SME Cloud File Manager a very powerful tool. It is also a great way to keep large files on the phone that you wish to access frequently, such as videos, ebooks, or large documents.\\ \\ Note that you can share local files by tapping the file action and choosing to share the file by email. This will create an email with the file attached.\\ \\ Memos, Voice Memos, and files that reside within 'My Folder Syncs' also reside as local files on the iPhone / iPad\\
-

-
-1. Click on a file action from a local files folder and choose 'cut' ( to get a file into the local directory, choose the file you want to open from another Application and open it into SME Cloud File Manager. The application that currently holds the file must supported document sharing.)
-
-2. Navigate to the cloud directory where you want the file to reside and choose 'Paste (filename)'
-
-3. Use the HTTP or FTP Server to upload files directly to the device.
-
-or you can
-
-1. Choose the file you want to open from another Application and open it into SME Cloud File Manager. The application that currently holds the file must supported document sharing.

-Editing Files:
-
-Files from your SMEStorage account and your mapped clouds can be edited and saved using something we call CloudDav. You can find out more about clouddav. CloudDav basically adds a WebDav layer above any cloud whether the underlying cloud supports WebDav or not.
-
-
-===== 26 Taking Memos / Notes =====
-
-
-
-
-
-You can create text memos directly in the SME Cloud File Manager by turning on the Cloud Memos option in "Settings". There is no formatting, these are simply text files. The advantage of creating them in SME is that they are easy to share via email, and they are easy to store as they are sync'd back to your underlying cloud.   You can can also create folders and use the folders as categories to store the different Memos/Notes that you create.\\ \\ Any of the local memos/notes you create can be emailed as an attachment and can also be 'cut' and 'pasted' to wherever you'd like to relocate them.\\ \\ If you have a multi-cloud account and change your primary provider then then memos could end up being stored on different clouds. You may want this, but then again you may not, so be aware of this. From the sync viewpoint it does not matter as all memos will still be sync'd back to the phone.\\ \\ To Sync, from the Memo main menu, click the sync button in the top right corner.
-
-
-===== 27 Editing Memos =====
-
-
-
-

The advantage of creating them in SMEStorage is that they are easy to share via email, and they are easy to store as they are sync'd back to you underlying cloud.   To sync click the sync icon in the top right hand side of the screen from the initial menu.\\ \\ If you have a multi-cloud account and change your primary provider then then memos could end up being stored on different clouds. You may want this, but then again you may not, so be aware of this. From the sync viewpoint it does not matter as all voice memos will still be sync'd back to the phone.\\ \\ You can also create folders which can acts as categories to store and sort voice memos. Any voice memos you create can be emailed as an attachment and can also   be cut and pasted anywhere you choose on the local file system.
-

-
-
-
-
-
-You can choose to upload photos and videos directly from your phone to your cloud provider by choosing the **//Media//** menu option from the **//Main Menu//**.\\ \\ Prior to doing this you should set where you want the photos to be located. You can do this by going to the **//Cloud Files//** view and when you are in the directory where you want the photos to be saved,   click the Pin icon (at the bottom right of the screen) and choose to "**//set as media folder//**"\\ \\ By default the Media folder is set to "**//iPhone photos//**" a folder we create when your account is created.\\ \\ NOTE that later versions of the SME Cloud File Manager also enable the upload of photos directly from a folder action option when in the Cloud File Manager view.
-
-
-===== 30 Uploading multiple photos =====

-From SME Cloud File Manager version 2.04 you can upload multiple photos.   When you select to upload a photo you will be taken to a screen where you can choose which photos you wish to upload. You will be asked for a base filename and the photos will use this ie. if the base filename is 'myphotos' and you select multiple photos then the photos will become 'myphotos1', 'myphotos2' etc.\\ \\ NOTE: If you have many photos (more than 500) then when you click to upload a photo or video there will be a pause as the photos are loaded into the multi-file picker. The length of time taken depends on the number of photos you have.\\ \\ NOTE: You can adjust the quality of the photos from the SME Settings option.\\ \\ NOTE that later versions of the SME Cloud File Manager also enable the upload of photos directly from a folder action option when in the Cloud File Manager view.
-
-
-===== 31 Filebox - sending files over email =====
-
-
-
-
-
-Filebox is a unique email address that you can send emails with attachments to, and the body of the email, and the attachments are stored in your FileBox folder. The Subject line of the email become the folder title. You can setup a unique name for your filebox email from 'My Account' on the web sidebar after login, and choosing options.  \\ \\ The FileBox email address **must come from your registered SMEStorage email address**. Anything from other addresses will be ignored. This is to prevent spam. If you feel you need another email address that files can be accepted from you can go to "My Cloud add-on's" from storagemadeeasy.com after login and purchase another email address.\\ \\ If your Filebox is empty or you've never set it up, you will be told this when accessing the menu option.
-
-
-===== 32 Securing your files =====
-
-
-
-
-
-If you upload files to your Cloud from the Storage Made Easy website or the the free windows cloud files explorer or other tools, you can choose to assign a unique password that only you know that is not stored on SMEStorage. These files will show as being padlocked in the SMEStorage **//Cloud Files//** view.  \\ \\ The **//My Secure files menu//** option groups all the files that you have password protected so you can access them from one place.\\ \\ **Note:** If you forget the password you will not be able to access the file. We don't keep the password and the file is encrypted using AES 256 bit encryption.\\ \\ **Note:** If you password protect a file you will only be able to "open" the file via SMEStorage. If you try and download it direct from your cloud you will not be able to access the files contents.
-
-
-===== 33 Printing Files =====
-
-
-
-

-If you have a printer that supports printing from iOS devices, when in the file viewer you can click the top right arrow to go to the file print view.
-
-
-===== 34 Web Browser =====
-
-
-
-
-
-The web option enables you to browse the web without exiting SME Cloud File Manager. This is useful both on the iPhone and iPad\\ \\ You can also set a default page, so if you want to be taken to your Google Calendar page for example each time you enter, you can set this page as default.
-
-
-===== 35 Adding / Removing Cloud Providers =====
-
-
-
-
-
-The Cloud Providers screen lets you change your primary storage provider. If you have a single cloud account you will only seen one option here but if you have an account that has more than provider you will see a choice. Just click on the Provider that you wish to be primary.\\ \\ Changing the provider will means that the upload location for photos and memos will change to the cloud you just made the default provider.  \\ \\ You can also add new Cloud Providers from this screen if your account allows it.\\ \\ Note that if you have created and sync;d existing memos to one cloud they will continue to reside there. Any new memos created will reside on the new primary cloud. You will just see a view that shows you all memos.\\ \\ **Refreshing your view**: You can also 'refresh the view' of your cloud data from here. Cloud such as Google Drive, and DropBox etc enable you to upload files from many different access points and tools. If you do this then the view you have from within SME Cloud File Manager could be out of date. You can refresh the view here by clicking the refresh button to the right of the cloud. You don't have to stay in the App whilst this occurs although you will be updated as to status in real-time. If you want to exit you can as this will still continue and you can come back later and check the status from Background tasks.\\ \\ **Deleting a Cloud Provider:** You can delete a cloud provider by swiping the cloud provide and choosing delete. If your account only has one cloud provider you will be able to choose from the providers we support to choose another. The only provider that cannot be deleted is the free SME provider. This is because we actually store data here rather than just give you a view of your data on other clouds. The only way to change this provider if you signed you for a free SME account is to contact us (support@storagemadeeasy.com) and ask us to change it.\\ \\ \\
-
-
-===== 36 Cloud Background Tasks =====
-
-
-
-
-
-Cloud background tasks represent tasks that you have either setup or that have completed on SMEStorage using our innovative Platform Task Engine. These invariably represent one of 4 things:\\ \\ 1. Sync'ing SMEStorage meta-information with your Cloud(s). This updates the view of your files within SME Cloud File Manager.\\ 2. Backing up email\\ 3. Emptying Trash\\ 4. Uploading / copying or moving files to or between Clouds\\ \\ You can access the BackGround tasks data from the Cloud Providers Menu option.\\
-
-
-===== 37 Trash =====
-
-
-
-
-
-When you delete a file, it is not deleted on your underlying cloud it is place in Trash. This is an additional security measure to prevent accidental deletion. It will stay there until you swipe and delete the individual file or you empty the Trash. If there are a lot of items in Trash, emptying the Trash will create a scheduled deletion request which you can monitor from Background Tasks.
-
-
-===== 38 Help =====
-
-
-
-
-
-The help screen is self-explanatory and provides a way to either find out information or contact SMEStorage. If you have any problems syncing or using the App then please do contact us as we are very responsive.
-
-
-===== 39 Document Sharing features (iOS 4+ only) =====

-\\ \\ **I see files that are on my cloud but I cannot see them through the SME Cloud File Manager Application ?**\\ \\ Because you are able to add files directly to your storage cloud, the SME Gateway does not know about them yet so you need to refresh the view. To do this go to My Account->Providers on the website and choose 'settings' for the relevant Cloud Provider. From the screen this takes you to, choose to resync your provider.   This will refresh the files view and update the Gateway about the new files you added directly to your underlying Cloud.\\ \\ If you choose to do a 'background sync' when asked (after you have chosen to resync) then the sync can be monitored by clicking on 'Cloud Sync tasks' on the sidebar from the website.. Whilst you are there, choose to rename the task '<cloud name> Sync'. Now when you next login to yourSME Cloud File Manager App you will see this sync task from the 'Background tasks' menu choice. You can now choose to restart this refresh of the view of you files directly from your iPhone / iPad anytime you wish.\\ \\ **Sometimes the App crashes for me?**\\ \\ If you have other applications in the background and you working with large files then App can exit as the Apple Operating System will close apps in use if memory becomes low. Please ensure you close background Apps if you are having this issue.\\ \\ Please visit the FAQ section of our site to see an updated list of FAQ's for SME Cloud File Manager, and also our forums.\\ \\
