Rclone Support for the File Fabric
last updated on March 17th, 2021
Rclone is a popular open source tool for synchronizing file and object data between storage systems.
Although Rclone has been able to be used with the File Fabric through its WebDAV and FTP protocols, starting with Rclone version 1.54, Rclone supports the File Fabric as an official data source and destination. This means any files moved through Rclone using the Rclone File Fabric data source will have metadata services applied to them upon transfer, such as content indexing, PHI / PII discovery and Audit Event logging.
File Fabric version 2006.02 or above should be used with Rclone.
You can read more about Rclone, including how to configure it in our blog post and you can download Rclone directly from the Rclone site.
