New Features
Pause and Resume Provider Syncs
Administrators can now manually pause and resume ongoing initial provider syncs and resyncs, which is especially useful during support activities or scheduled maintenance.
Syncs and resyncs will pause automatically if the associated Nasuni Edge Appliance (NEA) becomes unexpectedly unavailable.
No progress is lost during a paused sync or resync. Upon resuming, the operation continues from the last processed folder.
More Actions Supported During Provider Sync
Initial provider syncs and resyncs no longer prevent users from making different file and folder changes through Access Anywhere. This allows administrators to initiate syncs and resyncs during working hours or to start longer syncs that might run across a working day.
Users can now perform cloud folder refreshes, create new folders, upload, replace, and rename files and copy files and folders within or between providers. Some of these operations may be temporarily limited if the sync is currently processing a subfolder or immediate parent.
Changes
- SME-8772: checkPathExists no longer returns folder information for a user unless that user has at least read access to that folder. An exception is that for A/B/C/D, when a user has access to A and B and D but has no access to C checkPathExists for A/B/C/D will return success and the folder D details.
- SME-8762: An error is now shown on attempts to upload files to SMB providers with names that include illegal SMB characters (“/\:|<>*?).
- SME-8751: The branding of icons and text for Office for the web has been updated.
- SME-8677: Storage locking for the Office 365 connector is not supported. The configuration option has been removed from the provider.
- SME-8658: An update to the CIFS.ko module provides enhanced metadata for Nasuni IQ.
- SME-8600: The Amazon S3 provider now supports additional regions: af-south-1, ap-south-2, ap-southeast-3, ap-southeast-4, ca-west-1, eu-south-1, eu-central-2, me-central-1.
- SME-8599: The Teams application now uses the Nasuni square N logo.
- SME-8570: The tool name in the audit event log now uses the names “mactools' or “wintools” rather than the user agent string.
- SME-8506: Redis has been upgraded to Redis 7. Configuration is through Docker environment variables rather than a configuration file. Point-in-time snapshots are now saved (
/var/redis
). - SME-8231: When a file on a Nasuni provider is unlocked through Access Anywhere it will now be unlocked on the underlying storage even if “Enable file locking” is disabled.
- SME-8000: The Auth option “ActiveDirectory by Proxy Auth” is no longer available for new auth settings.
- SME-8445: A new error code
folder_lock
is returned from API requests that temporarily cannot be processed because a folder refresh or provider sync/re-sync is processing the applicable folder, or a parent folder or child folder.
